Dan Richardson
Percussion Instructor, Cadets2

Dan started his marching career playing the snare drum in the inaugural season of the Cadets2 in 2012. After spending two years with C2, he became a member of the 2014 Cadets for his age-out season. During this period, he was also a member of Imperial Dynasty’s 2013 debut in Winter Guard International.

As an emerging writer/arranger in southeast Pennsylvania, Dan contributes to many high school programs in the region. He is currently the percussion director at Downingtown East High School, where he works with band director Andrew German, who has been a major influence to his pedagogy.

Dan has instructed the snare drum section of C2 since 2015, which includes their first DCA World Championship title in 2016. He is also a staff member at Imperial Dynasty, a percussion ensemble that competes in WGI’s Independent Open Class circuit, where he serves as the Music Coordinator.

Aside from the marching activity, Dan attended West Chester University with a focus in music and philosophy and closely studied classical-style percussion with Ralph Sorrentino, a frequent performer in the Philadelphia Orchestra. Dan also had the opportunity to teach the battery percussion section of the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, alongside his mentors Darren Hazlett and Nick Buddock.
