Derrell Wallace

Bachelor of Arts and Science, Music Education - Texas A&M University-Commerce
Master of Music, Tuba Performance - Oklahoma City University

Derrell grew up in Terrell, Texas. In 2014, he graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a degree in Music Education. While a student, he sat as the principal tubist in the university’s wind ensemble, participated in jazz, chamber ensembles, and marched with The Cavaliers (2010, 2011). Upon the completion of his degree, he attended Oklahoma City University where he received his Master’s in Tuba Performance (2016). Derrell now serves as the assistant middle school band at Herman Furlough Middle School in Terrell, Texas. Before bringing his talents back home in 2016, He assisted with the direction of various marching bands in both North Texas and Central Oklahoma. He is excited to be returning to The Cadets for a second season.
