Hundreds of Alumni to sing "O' Holy Name"

Nearly 4,000 individual members of The Cadets have been a part of the long, storied tradition of the world’s oldest and most honored corps. We are certain that members of our brother and sisterhood are located in every state in the nation and many countries around the globe. Through this project, we seek to reconnect those who marched alongside one another and establish bonds between those who have never met, yet still hold this extraordinarily exclusive honor in common.

In a comprehensive initiative driven by the Alumni themselves, The Cadets, from Holy Name to Garfield, Bergen County to simply, The Cadets, we will connect the past to the present and into the future as we celebrate the legacy of one of the great youth organizations in America.

What We're Doing

Inspired by Eric Whitacre's virtual choir, we're calling all Cadets past and present to join together in singing "O' Holy Name" for an unforgettable experience. Led by Justin Moore and Devon Farquharson, our goal is to join alumni in a special version of The Cadets corps song, "O' Holy Name".

How To Sing With Us

If you're a Cadet alumni or member, click below to get started. Video production is starting soon so don't wait! Have questions? Contact .

Look for The Cadets singing "O' Holy Name" in the coming weeks. It's sure to be something very special.

Step 1 - Get Ready

Set up your recording device to record yourself. If using a phone or tablet, please turn the device sideways (landscape)!

We want everyone to sing in time and in tune, so you'll sing along to this recording. We'll call this the master track.

Step 2 - Get Set

After you're ready, start recording. Before you press play on the master track and start singing, introduce yourself. Be casual. Smile. Wave to the camera.

Some things you could talk about:

  • What's your name?
  • How old are you?
  • When did you march?
  • What sections?
  • What's your occupation?
  • What impact has The Cadets had in your life?
  • What do you hope the next generation of Cadets takes from their experience?
  • Anything!

Step 3 - Sing!

After your introduction, put on your headphones so you can listen to the master track. If you don't have head phones, you can turn the master track to a very low volume to sing along to, but remember, we can't use your video if we can hear the master track is playing in the background!

As you are singing, think about the last time you wore the uniform and the last time you stepped onto the field. Think about connecting with hundreds of Cadets.
