Youth Education in the Arts (YEA!) is a non-profit organization based in Allentown, PA. Its programs allow thousands of talented performers to participate in pageantry events nationwide. YEA's programs include: 

  • The Cadets — Ten-Time World Champion Drum and Bugle Corps
  • Cadets2 — 2016 World Champion Drum and Bugle Corps
  • USBands — The largest sanctioning body for scholastic music competitions in the United States
  • Xcape — Hip-Hop Dance Company

Founded in 1990, Youth Education in the Arts affords young members the opportunity to participate in some of the most prestigious events in the world. Each year YEA! members participate in numerous high-profile ceremonies celebrating sporting events and political inaugurations as well as movie premieres and television commercials. YEA! performers have most recently performed with recording acts such as Shania Twain and Destiny's Child, appeared on MTV, the Late Show with David Letterman and the Today Show, as well as being featured performers in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. YEA! has also provided ensembles for professional sports teams including the New York Jets, New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets.

In the organization's illustrious history, YEA! performers have had the unique experience to appear most notably at the Summer Olympic Games, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the World Cup and other notable national and international sporting events.

While amassing a long and storied tradition, YEA! groups have been recognized as the World Champions in various disciplines. Over 750 members have had the experience of winning gold medals for their performances, quite possibly an honor they would not be able to realize in any other part of their lives. 

YEA! invites the world of tomorrow and makes a huge difference in the lives of thousands of young people each year. Within the programs of YEA! young people gain an edge. They learn to cooperate, they learn to set goals, they work long and hard and they learn what it takes to be a success!

ExecAssistWe are seeking an excellent Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the CEO and CFO. You will be responsible for professionally interacting with management within and outside of the company, comfortably communicating with customers, vendors and visitors, and flawlessly handling confidential and critical details. In this role, it will be crucial for you to anticipate the needs of the lead directors and work flexibly to accommodate schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting non-profit or higher level CEO's. They should be well organized and comfortable scheduling meetings and responding to emails on the executive's behalf. 

Lastly, this individual should be able to draft documents and help the executives with any necessary meeting preparations. 


  • Calendar management
  • Aid executive in preparing for meetings
  • Responding to emails and document requests on behalf of executives
  • Draft slides, meeting notes and documents for executives

Preferred Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in use of Apple products
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities, administrative coordination, and logistics
  • Well-organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task with great follow-up skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The Marching Arts Part of the Job

  • It would be of great benefit to the candidate to have a background in the marching arts. The CEO has 35 years of experience in drum corps and bands and many of the meetings, discussions and activities are within this realm. Such a background is not mandatory but it would be very helpful. Having the ability to answer emails, take calls, assist teaching staff and to align summer and other travel would all be fabulous additions to the job description.

The Part of the Job That Does Not Go Easily Into Words

The CFO position will not be filled on a full-time basis for some time.

The CEO on the other hand is very much present. He is a workaholic who moves in too many directions at one time. He will need your every skill to keep appointments, to support the leadership team, to lock himself away for planning sessions and to make sure he picks up his laundry. 

The CEO also travels a good bit of time. To New York, to Philly and across the country, traveling with the performance groups. At times, there is a need for an in office anchor to manage the information via email and phone.

Final Notes

  • YEA! does offer medical. We pay about 1/4 of the premium.
  • YEA! does have 12-14 paid holidays.
  • Vacations are negotiable. The standard is two weeks.
  • A retirement plan is available.
  • Salary can be from 30k to much more depending on experience, commitment and performance.
