Weekend Recap: Indoor 3/18

USBands Indoor featured two competitions this weekend, one in Old Bridge, New Jersey and one in Stamford, Connecticut. Both competitions showcased talented color guard and percussion ensembles for a weekend of outstanding showmanship.

In Old Bridge, DoubleB Independent earned the top spot in the Independent Color Guard Winter - A Class with a score of 76.940 while home team Old Bridge High School Winter Guard earned a score of 79.650 for first place in the Color Guard Winter - A Class. Elizabeth High School Indoor Color Guard earned the title of first place in Color Guard Winter - Novice Class with a score of 78.470. Walt Whitman Indoor Color Guard earned a score of 77.790 for a close finish in second place while Rahway High School Indoor Color Guard stayed close on their heels with a score of 76.890 for a third place spot. Burlington City High School Guard rounded out the color guard portion of the competition for a first place finish in the Color Guard Winter - Regional A Class.

Competition for the percussion portion of the Old Bridge show was fierce Fair Lawn High School Percussion taking the top spot in the Marching Winter - A Class. Home team Old Bridge High School Indoor Percussion came in first in the Marching Winter - Open Class with a score of 90.600. Immaculata High School Percussion nabbed a first place finish in the Marching Winter - Regional A Class with a score of 88.850, with West Milford Percussion coming in a very close second with a score of 88.550. Bergenfield High School Indoor Percussion grabbed the third place spot with a score of 87.450, just ahead of Bloomfield High School Indoor Percussion who earned a score of 87.050. In the Standstill Winter - A Class, Delaware Valley Renegade Drumline earned a score of 85.300 for a first place finish, while Somerville High School Percussion came in first in the Standstill Winter - Novice Class with a score of 80.400. The Community Charter School of Paterson took the top spot in the Standstill Winter - Middle School group and the Elizabeth High School Percussion Ensemble earned the high score in the Standstill Winter - Regional A Class for a first place finish.

The Stamford, CT show took place at Westhill High School, with Brien McMahon A Guard taking the first place spot in the Color Guard Winter - A Class with a score of 77.220. Bunnell-Stratford Indoor Guard earned a score of 75.380 for a second place finish. In the Color Guard Winter - Novice Class, the East Haven High School Color Guard earned the high score of 71.050 for a first place finish, with the Enfield High School Indoor Guard coming in second place with a score of 69.280.

The percussion ensembles in Stamford brought the heat with Newtown High School Percussion and Westhill High School Winter Percussion tying for the first place of the Marching Winter - A Class. Both units earned the score of 83.750. New Milford High School Percussion came in a close third place with a score of 83.050. Nutley Indoor Percussion took the top spot in the Marching Winter - Regional A Class with a score of 79.600. Earning a score of 82.800, the Bunnell-Stratford Indoor Drumline took the first place finish in the Standstill Winter - Open Class. 

Next weekend, USBands Indoor competitions head to Bridgewater-Raritan High School Bridgewater, New Jersey and Bunnell High School in Stratford, Connecticut. The Stratford show is particular exciting because it is the Connecticut Regional competition! Both events will feature color guards and percussion ensembles for a weekend full of great performances.
