As we get closer and closer to the 2017 USBands season, several of our largest shows are nearing maximum capacity with over 90% of their registration spots filled. In addition to many of our Showcase events, nine of our Premium events are getting full with the exception of a few remaining spots.
"It is truly unlivable the flood of interest this year," said Director of USBands, Steve Petzinger. "We have multiple events nearing capacity already, less than one month into 2017 Fall Registration!"

The USBands Northern Virginia Regional will be held on September 23 at Herndon High School in Herndon, Va. Located just west of Washington D.C., our annual early-season event is limited to the first 25 registrations.
Yamaha Cup: Northeast will once again take over MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Always a student favorite, bands will have the opportunity to compete on the home field of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. Hosted on October 21, nearly 70 bands will compete in 12 different classifications.
The USBands Maryland State Championship will feature over 50 of Maryland's best high school marching bands. Held on October 21, the event will take place at Johnny Unitas Stadium at Towson University in Towson, Md. This is one of USBands' fastest-growing state championship events!
Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis Md. will once again play host to the Marine Corps Invitational. This year's competition will take place on October 28, later than in years past. The annual show at one of the most historic military stadiums is open to the first 60 registrants.
The USBands New Jersey State Championship - Groups IV - VI A and Open Class will take place on October 28 at HighPoint Solutions Stadium at Rutgers University in Piscataway. High school marching band will take over the birthplace of college football with nearly 70 bands competing in nine different classifications.
The next day, October 29, the USBands New Jersey State Championships - Group I - III A take the field at Rowan University. Located in Glassboro, N.J., the New Jersey State Championships return to Richard Wackar Stadium for the second year in a row. This event will feature over 50 bands in three classifications.
The USBands Mid-Atlantic Regional will take place on November 4 at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. Hosted at the University of Maryland in College Park Md., the event will feature an Open Class Prelims/Finals format. Last year at this event, Westfield High School from Chantilly, Va. pulled out a one-point victory over Thomas Jefferson High School from Alexandria, Va. and Hillsborough High School from Hillsborough, N.J. for the inaugural regional championship in 2016. Almost all of the 30 registration slots for this event are full!
November 4 will see the USBands New Jersey Regional at Lombardi Field in Old Bridge, N.J. Old Bridge has hosted numerous regional-type events in the past, including the former Preview of Champions. 2017 will be the first year that this event will be held in the Open Class Prelims/Finals format. Only 30 total registration slots are available.
The USBands A Class National Championships returns to the historic J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, Pa the weekend of November 4 and 5. Nearly 100 bands will compete in six different classifications over the two day extravaganza.
USBands Fall 2017 comes to a close on November 11 with the USBands Open Class National Championships. Returning once again to MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, N.J., nearly 70 bands will compete in six different classifications. This event is one of the highlights of the USBands Fall season and it's nearing registration capacity. If you haven't signed you band up to compete, do so soon!
