The second to last weekend of the 2017 Fall season was action packed with 10 major events across the country. Saturday, November 4, included five regional championships with the New Jersey Regional Championship, New England Regional Championship, Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, Southern States Regional Championship and the West Coast Regional in Van Nuys, California. Saturday also featured the three final Texas events of the season with the REMO Series Finale: Dallas in Midlothian, TX, the REMO Series Finale: Round Rock in Austin, TX, and the REMO Series Finale: Houston in Houston, TX. The rescheduled New Jersey State Championship for Groups I-III also took place over the weekend. The event had previously been postponed from 10/29 due to heavy rain.
November 4 featured the first day of the USBands A Class National Championships for Groups I A, II A, V A, and VI A. The following day, Sunday, November 5, saw the second half of the A Class National Championships with Groups III A and IV A performing. Both days of competition took place at J. Birney Crum with the perfect weather for fall marching competitions.
"The entire team worked incredibly hard this weekend," said Jon Swengler, Associate Director of USBands. "It's no small feat to put on this many major events in one weekend, including a show that spans two days. We had team members out in the rain in Maryland and climbing the hills all weekend in J. Birney Crum to make these events great events for the student."

For many schools, these were the last competitions of 2018. With the A Class National Championships over, their seasons draw to a close. Next weekend, USBands is excited to host the Open Class National Championship at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. In the final competition of the season, we can't wait to bring the National Championship to one of the most exciting venues in the marching arts.
