Introducing The 2019 Choreography Team

Choreo Square3This year, The Cadets will be adding a team of choreographers to bring a unique look and feel to the production on the field. Working closely with Adam Sage, Color Guard Designer, and Sam Watson, Color Guard Caption Head, the team will help to bring an added level of education to performers not only in the guard but in the entire corps. With most of the team being former Cadets themselves, they are excited to bring a new, yet uniquely Cadet experience to the performers.

"The team was chosen because of the background experiences working either individually or collaboratively on projects," said Adam Sage. "We have a long history together and very excited to share that with The Cadets. Some of us also performed with The Cadets and are so honored to give back to the organization."

Adam Sage is a long time Cadet with a lengthy history of teaching at the highest level of the performing arts. Adam was a choreographer and program consultant for Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017 and 2018 and is an adjudicator for Bands Of America and Winter Guard International. Adam is the artistic director and choreographer for Park Vista High School in Lake Worth, Florida. Recently Park Vista Winter Guard was named the 2018 WGI Scholastic Open Champions and the 2018 BOA class 4A Orlando Regional Champions. Park Vista will be performing in the Macy’s parade this November. To read more about Adam and the choreographers, click their bios below!

The choreography team will be working with the color guard and visual teams to bring an extra layer of movement to the drum corps. Adam Sage said, "Collaboration is key and all of the choreographers know how essential it is to design a training and the technical process that supports the performers the field. The quality of the performance on the field is not possible without a sound training process and it is imperative that the choreography team and the technical team collaborate and work as a whole. This is something I am very excited about."

Adam continued, "The choreography is not only essential to bringing out the movement and equipment combinations and connectedness but also the essence and emotion of the program. As a choreography team, we want to design with the program and production totality in mind so that the performers are given experiences that not only brings out their talent but the feeling and emotion of the program."
