We are thrilled to report that our very own Linda Vitale has been named one of the 2019 DCI Volunteers of the Year. Thanks to her tireless work for The Cadets over the last 12 years, Drum Corps International's Friends of DCI program selected Linda to be recognized for her momentous impact on the community this August during the DCI World Championship Semifinals in Indianapolis, IN.
“She is so protective of the members and demands that they look nothing short of their Cadet finest at all times,” said Scott Litzenberg, Director of The Cadets. “We can't say enough of her love of the members and the love they show her back.”
Linda began her journey with The Cadets in 2007 and has served as THE uniform aficionado, putting her seamstress skills to work day-in and day-out. In addition to fitting hundreds of uniforms, Linda has also worked as the stand-in merchandise manager ensuring that not only the members of The Cadets look good, but our fans as well. Throughout her unflagging work with the corps, she has become an integral part of the Cadets experience. Every member has been impacted by her work and every staff member and volunteer has come to know her as a part of the sewing crew.
“Linda uses her high-level communication skills to make sure that the entire team knows what needs to be done and who is doing what,” Scott said. “That is no small task in a volunteer-run organization that has so many moving people and parts.”
