IMG 1610The Cadets are thrilled to welcome the 2019 brass staff, headed by returning Caption Head Branden Hill. Also returning as the Brass Arranger and Brass Caption Supervisor, Dr. Drew Shanefield will continue in his integral role with the educational team.

Branden is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, where he received a master's in Instrumental Conducting. He received his bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, where he studied instrumental music education and conducting. A native of Murfreesboro, TN, Branden has worked with high school programs across the United States as both a clinician and designer. He is an active judge across the US. Before graduate school, he was the Director of Bands at Kempner High School in Sugar Land, TX and the assistant band director in Waller ISD and Fort Bend ISD. This is his third season on staff with The Cadets.

Choreo Square3This year, The Cadets will be adding a team of choreographers to bring a unique look and feel to the production on the field. Working closely with Adam Sage, Color Guard Designer, and Sam Watson, Color Guard Caption Head, the team will help to bring an added level of education to performers not only in the guard but in the entire corps. With most of the team being former Cadets themselves, they are excited to bring a new, yet uniquely Cadet experience to the performers.

"The team was chosen because of the background experiences working either individually or collaboratively on projects," said Adam Sage. "We have a long history together and very excited to share that with The Cadets. Some of us also performed with The Cadets and are so honored to give back to the organization."
