Requirements and Responsibilities:

The primary requirements and responsibilities of a Paid Professional Driver are as follows:

  • Safety of Equipment.  Daily Pre- and Post- trip inspections are required.  Report findings to the Transportation Manager. Correct known issues that can be dealt with personally.
  • ELD Compliance.  DOT Regulations must be adhered to at all times.  ELD Logging must be used in accordance with regulations.
  • Convoy Driving Safety.  Your safety and that of our members are our Highest Priority.  All Drivers will be instructed on safety requirements that go above and beyond what is required by law during our Drivers Meetings.  All Drivers must attend.
  • Copy of License, CDL #, FBI Background Check, PA required background checks and Driving History from your licensed State must be provided before a contract can be offered.

The secondary responsibilities of a Paid Professional Driver are as follows:

  • Cleanliness of our vehicles is a required task for our Professional Drivers.  Interior and Exterior cleanings take place on Paid Non-Driving Days.  
  • Assisting/Informing the Transportation Manager about all regular maintenance so it can be completed in a timely fashion.

All Paid Professional Drivers will be given a contract that clearly states the requirements and responsibilities of the position.  It will also include clear terms of payment and payment schedule.  At this time, there is one partial tour and one full tour position available.


The position will be structured around the corps’ summer tour and will require travel with The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. The summer training camp and tour origination point will be in the Philadelphia, PA area. The summer season runs from roughly June 14 to August 10. Ideally, Paid Drivers commit to working the entire ten-week tour, unless otherwise specified in your contract.  


Professional Driver is typically a paid position unless you are volunteering your time. Housing and meals are provided. The successful candidate will be provided transportation to and from the Philadelphia, PA tour origination location.
