Requirements and Responsibilities: 

The primary requirements and responsibilities of a Seasonal Volunteer Driver are as follows:

  • Safety of Equipment.  Daily Pre- and Post- trip inspections are required.  Report findings to the Transportation Manager. Correct known issues that can be dealt with personally.
  • ELD Compliance on vehicles which require logging under DOT Regulations.  DOT Regulations must be adhered to at all times.  ELD Logging must be used in accordance with regulations.
  • Convoy Driving Safety.  Your safety and that of our members are our Highest Priority.  All Drivers will be instructed on safety requirements that go above and beyond what is required by law during our Drivers Meetings.  All Drivers must attend.
  • Copy of License or CDL #, FBI Background Check, PA required background checks and Driving History from your licensed State must be provided before you can volunteer for The Cadets as a driver.

The secondary responsibilities of a Seasonal Volunteer Driver are as follows:

  • Cleanliness of our vehicles is a required task for ALL of our drivers.  Interior must be cleaned of debris and trash daily. Exterior cleanings take place on non-driving days.  
  • Assisting/Informing the Transportation Manager with/about all regular maintenance so it can be completed in a timely fashion.

Blackout dates for travel will be provided to all applicants so your arrival and departure from tour goes smoothly.  We love our volunteers and strive to ensure your safety and happiness while on tour with The Cadets.  Your Time is the most valuable thing you can give.  We recognize that and will do everything we can to make sure that your experience on the 2020 tour will be one to remember for a lifetime.

LOCATION and SCHEDULE 

The position will be structured around the corps’ summer tour and will require travel with The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. The summer training camp and tour origination point will be in the Philadelphia, PA area. The summer season runs from roughly June 14 to August 10. 

COMPENSATION 

This is not a paid position.
