John Gangale of Midland Park, N.J.
John Gangale performed with the Holy Name Cadets in 1957 as a solo soprano player.
He entered Army basic training in 1961 and progressed through his military career as an officer and leader until retiring in 1997 as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
In addition to his military responsibilities, John earned a doctoral degree at Columbia University.
He retired after 28 years as a special education teacher and school administrator in the New Jersey Public School System. He also retired as an assistant professor at William Patterson University.
John currently serves as an education mentor at Montclair State University.
