Delran High School, Delran, NJ
This weekend, The Cadets hosted the brass and percussion sections at Delran High School for the second camp this month. This was the last camp that will host both the brass and the percussion until the end of April.
The corps proceeded to ramp up for the 2017 season by working through several more minutes of music as well as fittings for the uniforms. Vaughn Sawdon from DeMoulin Bros. was on site to measure every member of the corps for their uniforms. The Cadets' uniform crew worked to measure existing uniforms for members as well, and finished their huge undertaking in a single morning.
"Indeed we complete a most successful camp, awarding most of the final brass positions, solidifying part assignments and reading through many excerpts of the show," said Brass Caption Head Drew Shanefield. " Tom Aungst, Omar Carmenates and I have completed solid drafts of much of the first half of the show. The second half continues to reveal itself. How the show reveals itself can be puzzling, challenging, exhilarating and quite joyful. The maze of show design can be tricky to navigate as we think conceptually, musically, technically and visually. Scoring and integrating the choral ensemble along with some pretty incredible soundscape ideas are taking us to new places: there is no blueprint in our activity for this. I think the corps is going to come out of the winter and spring season with a product unlike any other. We're in a great place for the end of January."
