Aidan Ritchie is a trombonist and teacher living in Pasadena, California. In the greater Los Angeles area, he teaches and plays low brass in a variety of venues. He has played with several orchestras in the area on euphonium, tenor, and bass trombones, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Aidan’s marching career started with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps on baritone in 2008-2011, finishing his last two years as section leader and soloist. In 2015, he traveled to Europe with Blue Devils International, culminating in performances at the Basel Tattoo, in Basel, Switzerland.
"Cadets were the very first drum corps I saw, on VHS. It's due to them I'm in the activity at all."
His teaching experience includes Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, starting in 2016 as the euphonium tech, and moving to assistant caption head in 2017. He has taught the UCLA Bruin Marching band since 2012, with two years as Teaching Assistant while attending the school. Internationally, he is a brass clinician with Aimachi Tenrikyo Marching Band in Handa City, Japan since 2015. Aidan also teaches Chino Hills High School and Westlake High School in the greater LA area as music and visual staff.
Aidan attended University of Wyoming for a BM in Bass Trombone Performance, and continued at UCLA with a MM in Bass Trombone Performance.
