Emily Wilson was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Kentucky in 2016. During her time at UK, Emily was a member of the French horn studio, as well as the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Wildcat Marching Band.
Emily has worked with middle and high school band programs throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. She maintains a private horn studio and enjoys playing horn in local community bands and orchestras. Her marching band teaching experience includes work with many of the Central Kentucky marching bands. She is a returning brass and visual staff member for 19 time class 5A KMEA State Marching Band Champion, Lafayette High School (Lexington, Kentucky).
Emily is excited to join The Cadets Brass Staff and have the opportunity to give back to an activity that has given so much to her! She began her drum corps career in 2014 playing mellophone as a member of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and in 2015 she marched with Santa Clara Vanguard.
Now residing in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Emily is the Director of Bands for the Menifee County School District (Frenchburg, Kentucky). She teaches middle and high school band, as well as a variety of other music classes.
